CROSBIE, Jeffrey David

Previous service 10th Rec. Coy. 25th Div. Aust. Regt. Plane was a B-25D Mitchell N5-176 of the 18th Sqd. which crashed on Bare Sand Island 65 km south west of Darwin. The aircraft was one of four B-25 Mitchells from Batchelor Airfield that were taking part in a training exercise. The explosion of one of the bombs dropped by another aircraft resulted in N5-176 losing a wing and crashing into the sea. All six crew were lost.
