Plane was a Wellington FU-X which took off from Tahir to search for a missing Beaufighter of the 153 Sqn. The aircraft crashed on the west side of a hill on Cape Bougaroun and was completely burnt out and the crew of six were killed. Flt Sgt Freeman was the Rear Gunner.
