Plane was de Havilland DH. 98 Mosquito FB Mk V1 sent to bomb road and rail junctions in the Ruhr area, Germany. The aircraft crashed in the middle of the Siegfried Line near the village of Kesfeld. Both pilot F/Lt Geoffrey Adamson Curry and F/Sgt William Russell McAuliffe, navigator were killed.
