Previous Service 44th Battn. Plane was a Lancaster 1 LL746 of No. 467 Sqn. which took off from RAF Waddington with 594 aircraft to bomb the M.A.N works at Augsburg. The raid was deemed a success however Lancaster LL746 was intercepted and shot down. The aircraft crashed into a wood near Decklingen. Seven crew were lost.
