* Australian Airforce Reserves 1941 ( enrolment 1941Dec23 Class E5 RAAF Reserve certified by his then Builder Employer Merv C Wood & 2nd Brother-in-Law Dave Williams ) BEFORE he enlisted about the same time as the 2 youngest ( of 4 WW2 Weeks Brothers ) Max & Charlie, but because the Pilots quota was filled & there were 50% casualties with Air Gunners he really had no option but to do his * 1943Apr Ballarat Victoria, Air Gunners / Wireless Operators training & then follow up * 1943 early Ansley Wales ( or Castle Kennedy substituted ? ) before being ultimately OTU 19 ( Operational Training Unit ) deception operations & RAF Kinloss, NE Scotland ; However, Jimmy had an underlying heart condition ( unrepairable heart valve sadly with his early demise 1985 ) brought on initially by his: 1941Dec RAAF Reserve, 1943Apr Wireless & AG training in Ballarat & ultimately his 1943 follow up Air Gunners training, OTU 19 deception Operations & RAF Kinloss NE Scotland Service No. 19 OTU of high altitude NIGHT Bomber training flying ( he was eventually repatriated back to Northern Territory, Australia ( sadly only as leading Aircraftman at No. 9 Stores Depot Daly Waters ? / Gorrie Airfield / Winnellie nearer to Darwin ) with severe chronic, bronchitis which he lived with all his life ; his RAF Commanding Officer at Kinloss described Flight Sergeant Tail Gunner JJ Weeks as a " good man " ( & was obviously despondent to have to let him go ) ; 1943Oct23 Squadron Leader A.D. Peardon: " He ( Sgt. Weeks ) is an extremely good type of airman and I should think very genuinely disappointed at being taken out of aircrew " Thankyou to Jeff Weeks for photo and information.
