HARTY, William Francis Marcus

Plane was Mk.Xc Beaufighter of the 30 Sqn. RAAF which was on a ferry flight from Kamiri Strip, Noemfoor when it veered off the strip during takeoff hit a ditch and burst into flames. The pilot F/Off Porch and F/Sgt Harty [Navigator] were killed. Two passengers standing behind the pilot escaped with minor injuries.
