JONES, Robert Leonard Frederick

Plane was a Beaufighter A19-149 which together with Beaufighter A19-189 were to carry out photo recce of coastline from Cape Doelane to Koeandang Bay. A19-149 disappeared. It was later established that the aircraft crashed and the pilot David Bernard Benson and Navigator Robert Leonard Frederick Jones were captured by the Japanese and executed at Mt Sopoetan.
