POW Japanese - executed.Plane was a Hudson A16-230 of 2 Sqd. which was shot down in the Banda Sea near the Itain Islands. Beddoe and his crew rowed ashore in a dinghy to Loeang Island and spent two months living with the natives before they were betrayed to the Japanese. Beddoe was shot by the Japanese and his body lost at sea. The rest of the crew were executed by the Japanese at Ambon.
