CROMIE, John Andrew

Warrant Officer John Cromie served in the 460 Squadron in the UK in 1943. He flew 12 sorties with 460 Squadron and the crew were transferred to the 550 Squadron. On John's 13 flight and 1st with 550 Squadron the Lancaster plane was shot down and John was the only survivor. He then spent one and half years as a POW in Germany before being released by the Russians. Warrant Officer Cromie's name is on the Ex-POW Memorial Ballarat.
