MONK, Peter Vivian

Previous service 4th Vet. Hospital . P/Off Monk served as a tail gunner in RAF's Bomber Command flying in four engine Avro Lancaster heavy bombers. During a raid on the Skoda factory in Pilsen [Czech Republic] Monk's Lancaster was shot down by flak and crashed N.E of Saarbrucken in Germany. Monk and all six crew mates were killed.
