Previous service 4 years with R.A.N.R. Discharged as a 'Leading Writer'. Trained at 1 WAGS Ballarat Course 10. David Croston assisted in the training of RAAF crews for the 1 WAGS Rowing Team. He was a champion rower from South Australia and the secretary of the Port Adelaide Rowing Club before he enlisted in the RAAF. Information supplied by Sean Batson. Plane was a Lancaster LL882 of the 463 Sqd. RAAF which was shot down near Ypres on a night mission to Lille, France. All the crew were killed.
