Plane was a Wellington X3965 of the RAF 166 Sqd. which was dispatched from Kirmington, Lincolnshire U.K to attack Bochum, Germany. The plane failed to return and was later revealed to have been shot down by German pilot F.W Heinz Vinke 20 km west of Zandvoort, Netherlands. The crew were officially presumed dead.
