Warrant Officer Thomas George Holmes completed 1 W.A.G.S Course 43 and was posted to the U.K. Thomas was attached to No. 8 [Observers] Advanced Flying Unit [AFU] RAF based at Mona, Isle of Anglesey Wales. The AFU for pilots and Observer [Wireless/Op. and Navigators] were set up to enable aircrew who had trained abroad to experience UK weather and flying conditions prior to their posting to an Operational Unit.
